Sepulveda stands out for Steelers
Posted by The Baylor Proud Team in : Athletics, Honors , trackback
A lot of people questioned the Pittsburgh Steelers traded up to draft Baylor’s Daniel Sepulveda in the fourth round this year. After all, it’s not often that a punter even gets drafted at all.
Sepulveda has made the Steelers’ move pay off this year, and he was rewarded by being named the team’s rookie of the year today. In his first year as a pro, Sepulveda leads the NFL with 43.5 percent of his punts landing inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. He also ranks fifth among full-time AFC punters in net yards. Pretty good for a rookie!
(Bonus link: Remember when Sepulveda “de-cleated” North Texas’ return man? You can move the man from linebacker, but you can’t take the linebacker out of the man.)
Sic ’em, Daniel!
