Pyfer bear sculptureAfter years in the making, the Pyfer bear sculpture was installed last week in front of the McLane Student Life Center. The 9-foot-tall, 1,200-pound sculpture was created by a Baylor professor, Dr. Douglas Crow, and was funded through a gift from Carol (Trice) Pyfer and her husband, John F. Pyfer, in honor of Carol’s parents and her uncle, Bill Boyd, who was the first official trainer of Baylor’s bear mascot.
